Description
The Michigan City Breakwater Lighthouse is on the end of the pier, or breakwater, and is an example of the myriad pierhead lights along the shores of Lake Michigan. Michigan City is in northern Indiana just below the Indiana-Michigan line. This Lighthouse is 49 feet tall, was opened in 1904 and automated in 1960 - so it is still an active aid to navigation.
