Description
The South Haven Light is a pierhead lighthouse at the entrance to the Black River on the southeastern shore of Lake Michigan. It was originally lit in 1872 and it remains operational today.
The South Haven Lighthouse sits at the west end of the South Pier at the Mouth of the Black River in South Haven, Michigan. On the day it was photographed by Bill Swartwout Photography, the waves were too high to permit waling out the the Light itself. But the scene was quite remarkable with the setting sun trying to break through a heavy cloud layer and driftwood in the foreground on the beach. No matter where you live this would also be a remarkable scene to display in your home or office.
