Description
The Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, with its iconic clock faces, in Baltimore, Maryland has been transformed into studio spaces for visual and literary artists and it stands as an icon of the city skyline since 1911. It was originally "The Emerson Tower, because Captain Isaac Emerson was the inventor of the headache remedy, Bromo Seltzer, He also built the tower.
If you look carefully at the image, captured by Bill Swartwout Photography, you can see the clock numerals are actually the letters in BROMO SELTZER. Bill actually lived in Baltimore for a good many years before he noticed that subtle, but distinctive change.
