Description
The "Storm Flag" is the second-largest of the flags that fly over the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore, Maryland. The dark and stormy sky makes the red, white and blue of the flag stand out as it spanks in a brisk breeze.
Fort McHenry is the birthplace of our National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, that was written by Francis Scott Key, a Baltimore lawyer, during the last major battle of the War of 1912. That battle, the successful defense of Baltimore from British invasion ended on September 14, 1814.
