Artist's Description
This theater organ, the "Wurlitzer Hope-Jones Unit Orchestra," is found in the Engineers' Club of Baltimore. The "Mighty Wurlitzer" was a product of the collaboration of Robert Hope-Jones and Rudolph Wurlitzer who developed a true theater organ that was not just a transplanted church organ.
The Engineers Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore is home to many social and professional functions. This antique Wurlitzer Organ figures prominently in many of them.
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
