A partially buried fence post at Whiskey Beach stands up to catch some rays - as do many of the beach-goers just north of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The posts and "snow fence" helps keep the sand from drifting too much and cutting off the dune crossings.
Whiskey Beach (Whisky Beach) is a unique name that is derived from two possible sources, or "stories." One is that this was a place for rum-runners to land during the days of Prohibition; the other is that it was a place to go party for the soldiers at Fort Miles, now Cape Henlopen State Park, during World War II.
This is a "different" sort of photograph for sure, unique in the solitary nature of the subject. Where in your home would this fit in with your decor?
