Description
The Iris (Iris germanica) is the common name for a species of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae. Regardless of it's official classification, Iris plants are beautiful, stately flowers that bring joy to any garden. Being presented in many, many colors this flower is named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris.
This particular iris with predominantly a blue/purple color, was photographed in Nancy's garden, in the early morning light, with no props or special effects. The color was enhanced slightly in post-processing/editing to render an unique photograph of a colorful flower to decorate your home or office with a splash of Springtime - all year long.
