Artist's Description
For this image of these two old barns I chose to make the image, itself, appear old by using a mixture of filters in post-processing. One filter gives the appearance of a photo being produced from an antique film plate.
These barns have been slowing decaying over the many years I've traveled Back Starr road on trip from Baltimore to the Beach. The nearest town in Centerville, Maryland, which is just east of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I only mention that because this area of the Eastern Shore (Delmarva Peninsula) is known for its many farms. Some folks, familiar with the area, may also have seen these when traveling from Centerville to Queen Anne. Where would you display such a photograph in your home? Or do you have an office where you can display it?
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
