Artist's Description
The schnozzola on this cuke is reminiscent of the noted facial feature of the Hollywood legend, James F. Durante, better known as Jimmy Durante. It is hard to believe he has been gone for so many years (nearly four decades now) but his comedic legacy will live on forever.
This slightly mutant cucumber was grown in the backyard garden of photographer Bill Swartwout. It seems funny in the garden but looks even more like person with a large nose when standing upright in the morning light. We wonder if Jimmy would approve of this vegetarian nose poking fun at his "famous" nose.
