Here is an historical example of (nearly) five century old architecture in a simulated charcoal sketch of Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, a fortress in the city of Cartagena, Columbia. Built by the Spanish during the colonial era, this fort dominated the landscape of this famous walled city. The walls and the fortress provided protection from Caribbean pirates and enemies of the Spanish Crown.
