Description
The Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is the common name for a species of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae. Regardless of it's official classification, the Iris plants are beautiful, stately flowers that bring joy to any garden even in this black and white rendition. Being presented in many, many colors this flower is named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris.
This particular white iris with a purple edge, the "beard," was photographed in an average garden, in the morning light, with no props or special effects. The color was removed in post-processing/edit to render an unique photograph of a colorful flower in shades of black and white.
