Here is a portrait-style photograph of "Chip." His actual name is Delegate's Pride, ID N6ELS-H, and he is a Bay Stallion born in 2009. Chip is a wild (feral) horse that lives on Assateague Island, Maryland. He is free to roam throughout the Assateague Island National Seashore and the Assateague State Park.
Assateague Island is a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sinepuxent Bay and stretches from the Ocean City Inlet on the north to the Virginia/Maryland border to the south. There are about 100 wild horses living on the island and are found traveling freely in small bands consisting of a stallion and his mares.
This semi-portrait of Delegate's Pride was captured by Bill Swartwout Photography in the vicinity of the developed campgrounds of Assateague Island National Seashore. Chip, as he is affectionately known, was accompanied by two mares, Mieke's Noe'lani and Suzi Sole.

I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
