Artist's Description
Exploring flora near the beach in coastal Delaware can make one forget they are actually at the beach. This photograph of a holly tree branch forcing its way through the pine branches of a coastal forest is one such example.
In a wooded area the flora are all competing for life-giving sunlight, much like sunbathers soak up the sun for the benefits of Vitamin D. This wooded scene exists just two miles from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean just west of Fenwick Island, Delaware and Ocean City, Maryland. This foliage display was not found deep along a secluded hiking trail, either. Instead, these holly leaves can be seen right along a roadside in the West Fenwick area. If you would like to bring a bit of the outdoors into your home or office, you might consider buying a framed print or a print-on-canvas of this unique combination of greenery.
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
