Description
Spanish Moss on this Southern Live Oak is more scientifically termed Tillandsia usneoides on Quercus virginiana. The coastal plain and islands of Georgia, including Jekyll Island, teems with Southern live oaks dripping with fuzzy tendrils of Spanish moss. Georgia's state tree is a symbol of strength and a bulwark against time itself. The moss seemingly adds to the feeling of timelessness.
