Description
An American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) goes for a swim on a sunny afternoon on Beaver Dam Creek in Salisbury, Maryland. This stream actually flows through the Salisbury Zoo but this li'l guy is not a "captive" - but appears comfortable just hanging out in the area.
The American White Pelican is one of North America's largest birds and seems at home in a variety of habitats. This guy spent some time lazily swimming around because this was an unseasonably hot day in September and these large birds can actually become overheated.
If you like pelicans and are a fan of these majestic birds you can have this unique print on display in your own home. Where do you think you will hang it?
