Artist's Description
Can you see the monster? In this photograph of stormy seas off the beach at Ocean City, Maryland, the backlighting by the sun, as it began breaking through the cloud deck, created many interesting shadows and shapes.
A long-lasting nor'easter created waves reaching almost record heights along the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean in Maryland and Delaware. The wind changed direction a bit on the final morning of the storm and created the confused seas that resulted in Bill Swartwout's capture of the "Monster of the Seas."
At first this panorama appears to be done in black and white but it is actually a full color image. If you love the beach and often wish you could see the fury in the water created by a massive storm - here it is. If you purchase a print or canvas of this photograph you can see it all year long. Think about where you will display this piece and would you like to have it framed or printed on artist canvas?
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
