Artist's Description

Maker's Marks is a fine bourbon for those of us who appreciate a fine alcohol product from time to time. The Lexington Legends Minor League Baseball team plays some fine baseball at Whitaker Bank Field in Lexington, Kentucky. So together they have the makings of a fine evening.

This "redhead" topped giant baseball stands tall above the center field fence at the Legends' ball yard. It is also marked as being 491 feet from home plate. So, unless there was a Home Run Derby with some outstanding hitters, I doubt the dents in the Maker's Mark Baseball were put there - by a baseball - during a regular game.

Maker's Mark is distilled at Loretto, KY - not far from Lexington, If you are a fan of the drink and/or the sport, wouldn't you like to have a print of this photograph in your home of office. Where would you hang it?

About Bill Swartwout

Bill Swartwout

"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
