The Indian River Life Saving Station Museum at Delaware Seashore State Park seems to glow in the setting sun and the remembrance of protecting mariners for over 150 years.
The station was built in 1876 for use by the United States Lifesaving Service to respond to an alarming number of shipwrecks along the mid-Atlantic coast. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
