Description
A tall, cylindrical building, such as the Fenwick Island Lighthouse in southern Delaware, needs a circular staircase to get to the top. The lighthouse keeper needs to frequently tend to the light to keep it shining brightly and, in this case, to help mariners avoid the deadly Fenwick Shoals.
This presentation looking up from the bottom of the circular stairway inside the Fenwick Light is almost surreal in nature - going around and around and disappearing into the void. It is nearly abstract in appearance but it actually exists - exactly as photographed.
