Description
The main gate and entrance to the "Star" part of Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland is shown here from the vantage point of the Raveline Magazine. The Storm Flag is flying in a stiff breeze on the newly erected replica flag pole. The flag spanking in a strong breeze against a beautiful sky presents an incredible picture of the fort - just as it may have appeared during the War of 1812.
The Raveline "underground" Magazine, across, from the entrance to the main part of the fort was used for storage with easy accessibility to gunpowder for the cannons of the Water Battery and other exterior-mounted cannons.
If you are a military history buff - or have one in your family - where would you display this wonderful photograph? Or to whom would you give it as a gift?
