Description
These meters helped to enable operators at the local electric company to control the delivery of electricity to various neighborhoods of Baltimore, Maryland.
In this case the local generator of electricity was the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, BG&E, and this display of historic equipment can be seen at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The BMI has myriad displays of the the Industrial Revolution and how it affected the City of Baltimore.
Editing techniques make this photograph appear as it might have looked if it was taken by a camera of the era when these meters were state of the art, modern technology. If you like an old-time, maybe Steampunk, look then a print of this image might work well on a wall in your office or your man cave at home.
