Description
This stormy afternoon presentation of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was taken by Bill Swartwout Photography from Kent Island, the eastern terminus of the bridge on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Officially, the William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge, this dual-bridge structure spans four miles over the Chesapeake Bay to connect Maryland's Western Shore to Kent Island and the Eastern Shore on the Delmarva Peninsula. With this bridge standing 186 feet high at the highest point of the suspension portion of the roadway, the Bay Bridge instills fear in the hearts of many drivers who cross it. However, most drivers and passengers simply revel in the beauty of this engineering marvel.
You can enjoy the beauty of this bridge in your own home or office. Where would you choose to display it?
