Artist's Description
Ah, this abstract photograph of lipstick on a champagne glass, highlighted by the setting sun illustrates the hedonistic pleasures of looking attractive and drinking champagne. Well those two activities abound while on a Caribbean cruise vacation and the smudge on the glass is a testament to that.
And of people having fun, of course. The fun is this capture was found in the Caribbean Sea aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship, Grandeur of the Seas, during a January vacation to warm waters.
Of course, we all know - or, at least, women should know, that there is a technique to keep lipstick on the lips and not on the edge of a champagne flute or wine glass. No, not drinking straight out of the bottle. The trick is to surreptitiously lick the glass. Yup, a little swipe with the tongue to moisten the glass. That will keep most of the lipstick where it belongs - on the lips.
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
