Description
For military history buffs, especially World War II and Coastal Defense...
If you are into Coastal Defense of the Delaware during World War II, you may find this piece of history interesting. This is the Slider (or Slide) for a static mount of a 16" gun, or cannon if you will, as it arrived from government storage.
The restoration of Fort Miles at Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes, Delaware, includes the eventual display of a refurbished 16" gun from the Battleship Missouri. It will be restored as a static display much like the original installation of such weaponry back during the dark day s of WWII.
Wouldn't this look great (and be a conversation piece) in your office or, maybe, your home? Where would you display it.
