Description
Beignets! Oh, Yes! Simply put, a beignet is a pillow-shaped piece of dough that is deep fried and sprinkled all over with confectioners sugar. These are best served hot and go well with a hot coffee or a café au lait. While beignets are best known by many as a New Orleans treat - especially at the Cafe du Monde, they are also available at many other venues. These delicious examples were devoured, with dignity of course, at the Crabcake Factory Bayside restaurant near Fenwick Island, Delaware. Oh, the dipping sauce? Chocolate, of course (but they also came with caramel and raspberry).
