Here is a Black and White "portrait" of Assateague Island Wild Horse, Susi Sole (N2BHS-M). Susi Sole is a pinto mare born on May 26, 2014 in the State Park campground. Her sire is N9BM-E Yankee and her dam is N2BHS Carol's Girl. Susi Sole can be found in the developed area. Susi Sole (pronounced "soul lay", the Italian word for sunshine) was named in the 2014 Name That Foal Fundraising Auction on eBay, sponsored by a support group for the Assateague Island National Seashore.
Susi Sole can be found wandering free throughout the Assateague Island National Seashore (AINS) and the Assateague State Park on the Maryland portion of Assateague Island. Susi Sole is not found on Chincoteague Island or the Virginia portion of Assateague Island. The two herds of wild horses are kept separate and manged differently.
