Artist's Description
A blustery northeast wind creates an angry surf on the beaches of the Delaware Seashore State Park at the Indian River Inlet in southeast Delaware. Surfers and jetty surf fishermen are taking advantage of the waves and the overcast sky.
The Indian River Bridge oversees this scene and connects the north shore seen in this photograph from the south shore jetty from where this image was captured. There were actually several active surfers and a couple dozen people fishing from the jetties but this image only highlights two of them is a small bit of sunlight breaking through the cloud-covered sky.
The lighting and a slight texture give this image somewhat of a "painterly" effect but, otherwise, this is how the scene actually looked at this particular time. You can have this unique scene decorating a wall in your home (or office) so you can view this angry surf all year long.
About Bill Swartwout
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." Robert Louis Stevenson... My photography reflects such wanderlust. I record images of places to which I wander and distractions along the way. I love to share my joy of living at the beach and our travels afar, bringing you photographic art that reflects what I see. I have had my work published for more than half a century, starting as a junior reporter for a local newspaper in 1964. I have been involved with industrial photography, wedding photography and real estate photography but my love has always been landscape and seascape photography. Today I concentrate strictly on photography as art. Purchase one of my pieces to...
