Description
At Fort McHenry the firing of the 24 pounder cannon named Beason's Son was a salute to tall ships as they departed Baltimore's Harbor. This was a culminating event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the end of the War of 1812 as part of the Star Spangled Spectacular and the birthday of The Star Spangled banner, our national anthem written by Francis Scott Key in September, 1814.
