Description
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore has exhibits of all kinds - from very large to very small. In summertime there are butterflies to be found nearly all throughout the park-like settings of the zoo.
One such butterfly, an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) alights on a flowering bush in a "victory" salute to let us all know he has found the golden nectar. From this angle this butterfly appears to be either a swallowtail, a monarch or a viceroy butterfly, but we cannot be certain without seeing the full pattern of the open wings. There is another photograph (offered in this gallery) that shows it to be a Swallowtail.
If you like butterflies and would like to have something a bit "different" from the traditional picture, this photograph would look great on a wall in your home or office. Where will you put it?
